TUESDAY,  NOVEMBER  2,  2010


FEDERAL &  STATE  GENERAL  ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that a GENERAL ELECTION will be held in all precincts of  Wilson County, Tennessee on  Tuesday, November 2, 2010 between the hours of  7:00 a.m. and  7:00 p.m. for the purpose of  electing  the  following:

GOVERNOR – STATE OF TENNESSEE – term – four (4) years
UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES -  5th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT - term - two (2) years
UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES -  6th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT - term - two (2) years
TENNESSEE STATE SENATE - 17TH SENATORIAL DISTRICT
TENNESSEE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES - 46th REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT - term - two (2) years
TENNESSEE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES - 57th REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT - term - two (2) years


MUNICIPAL  ELECTION - CITY  OF  LEBANON

Notice is hereby given that a MUNICIPAL ELECTION will be held in the City of Lebanon, Tennessee on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 between the hours of  7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing the following:

            ALDERMAN - WARD 3 - term four (4) years
ALDERMAN - WARD 4 - term four (4) years        ALDERMAN - WARD 6 - term four (4) years
RECIPIENT  OF  THE CARTMELL SCHOLARSHIP - term two (2) years    

Candidates for Mayor and Alderman must have resided within the corporate limits of the City of Lebanon for twelve (12) months preceding the election and they shall be registered voters qualified to vote in the election in which they are candidates.  Candidates for the Cartmell Scholarship must be residents of the City of Lebanon or the 3rd Civil District.
The funds for this scholarship are administered by Vanderbilt University and shall be used only at that institution.  Only voters eligible to vote in the City of Lebanon Election will be allowed to vote for the scholarship recipient.
     

MUNICIPAL  ELECTION CITY  OF  MT. JULIET                  
                          
Notice is hereby given that a MUNICIPAL ELECTION will               
be held in the City of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee on Tuesday,           
November 2, 2010  between the hours of  7:00 a.m. and                  
7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing the following:                
                                                                       
COMMISSIONER - DISTRICT  2 - term - four (4) years COMMISSIONER - DISTRICT  4 - term - four (4) years.
Only registered voters residing within the corporate limits of the City of Mt. Juliet are eligible to vote in this election.     
       
                     
MUNICIPAL  ELECTION  CITY  OF  WATERTOWN

Notice is hereby given that a MUNICIPAL ELECTION will be held in the City of  Watertown, Tennessee on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 between the hours of  7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing the following:
THREE (3) ALDERMAN - term four (4) years.
Only registered voters residing within the corporate limits  of the City of Watertown and persons properly registered on property ownership are eligible to vote in this election.


--QUALIFYING DEADLINE--            
Qualifying  petitions for the above named  municipal offices are available at the office of the  Wilson  County  Election  Commission.  These petitions must be turned in by 12 Noon, Thursday, August 19TH to the Election Commission Office
in order to have your name placed on the ballot.    


--WITHDRAWAL DEADLINE--
The Deadline to Withdraw in any of the above Municipal Elections is Thursday, August 26th by 12 Noon.  Withdrawal statements must be in writing over the candidate’s signature.


--REGISTRATION  DEADLINE--   (For all of the above elections)

The Deadline to Register to Vote in the Election Commission office is Monday, October 4th.  You may register during regular office hours or you may register at the Department of Motor Vehicle Driver Testing Centers, the Department of Human Services or the Health Department.  Voters who register at the above named offices are considered  “in person” registrations.  You may also pick up By-Mail registration forms at the office of the Register of Deeds, any of the County Clerk’s Offices, the Libraries within Wilson County or at some Post Offices.

Voters who use “By-Mail” forms to register are required to vote in person the first time they vote either at the polls or during Early Voting.  Forms downloaded off the Internet are considered “By-Mail” registrations.

Registration By-Mail Forms postmarked by Monday, October  4th  will be processed for this election.  Please note that forms must be deposited at the post office or in postal boxes early enough to be picked up that day for postmarking.
Mail is  NOT  postmarked on weekends unless it is taken inside the Post Office and hand stamped.   Any forms post-marked after October 4th will be held and processed after the November  2nd  Election.


--ADDRESS CHANGE WITHIN WILSON COUNTY OR NAME CHANGE DEADLINE--

WE  ENCOURAGE  ALL  REGISTERED  VOTERS  WHO  HAVE  MOVED  WITHIN  WILSON  COUNTY  OR  HAD A  NAME  CHANGE TO  MAKE  THESE CHANGES  BY  THURSDAY,  OCTOBER  28th.

Voters who are already registered to vote in Wilson County may change their address or name by sending in their old registration card with the corrections or a note requesting said change over their signature, or by coming to the Election Commission Office until Thursday, October 28th or by making said changes during Early Voting.  Voters who fail to change their address prior to election day  will experience a delay in voting.

The Wilson Election Commission Office is located at 203 East Main Street in Lebanon.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Call 444-0216 for further information on qualifying for office, voter registration or other questions pertaining to the election process.
